Arthur Bloor

In the 1890’s Arthur Bloor opened a pork butchery business in Leicester. Breeding and feeding his own pigs whilst making the whole range of products associated with that trade including bacon curing, pork pies, sausages and small goods.

TS Bloor

Arthur’s eldest son was Thomas Stanley Bloor who grew up in the business. After he took over a small pork butchery business in Coalville in 1927, Tom expanded and in 1934 built an abattoir with a bacon curing and processing facility that was known as Belvoir Bacon.

David Bloor

Tom’s sons Tom and David continued to expand the business in the post-war years, employing some 220 personnel and distributing its products nationwide. The business was sold in 1990 and is now the current Tulip site in Coalville.

Charles Bloor

26 years ago the current business was started by David and his son Charles cutting up 2 pigs a week in a small retail shop. We now have a purpose built factory boning, curing and cooking up to 13,000 hams per week with a dedicated team of permanent staff (no agency workers are used on site). We enhance the craft and techniques of days gone by with a brand new 25,000 square foot dedicated chilling, slicing and despatch facility. Charles is the current Managing Director of TS Bloor & Sons Ltd.
